Looking to have all MFU functions

Hello all... I have a tamiya KH from towerhobbies. I bought the combo pack so the truck came with a Tactic TTX 404 4 channel, 2.4 ghz radio system and standard towerhobby servos. While building the rig I bought the MFU from towerhobbies. Everything works great except for one thing..... I can't start or shut off truck , or turn lights on or off from my controller. I realize this controller can't do those functions....before I go shopping online again and try to pick or choose what controller will work , I thought I would ask what you guys would recommend.....thanks

Mario

I'm thinking its a radio issue. pistol grip radios don't work well with the MFU.. I also wonder if the MFU control panel switches are in the right position.

I have the spectrum dx5e and I can do all but shut off the truck. Got it to happen once but not since then, but hasn't played with that much do it may work ok after some adjustments

Thanks dabears,

I read the MFU instructions toactivate the functions....problem is, it refers to moving the right joystick " trim tab " I think they call it. My controller only has a trim tab for the left joystick. Does your spectrum dx5e have the right stick trim ability?

Re: Looking to have all MFU functions

Yes it does it has 4 trims. They are digital. Now somehow ihave it where if I have one of my switches up I can control the lights and hazards with no trim adjustments at all if i'm in all neutral. If they switch is down then I can carol the horns in neutral. If i'm driving then horns work no matter which way the switch is. Ill plat with it tonight and see if I play with the switch and trims I can **** the truck down. I can get the truck to stop the motor in"park" mode just not shut down the motor yet... Hope that helps. I can make a vid to show you what I mean?

YES!!!!!!! i got all functions to work!!!! On the DX5E... Sorry got excited,, the trick is for me i have channels 2 and 4 reversed.... i have to put then in normal poss then do the digitial trim far right on L and far up on R and can start and stop the motor...... tried it several times. then once truck is started, center your trims and flip channels 2 and 4 (for me) Hope that helps i can and prob will make a vid and you tube it for those who cant get it to work..

Re: Looking to have all MFU functions

I just received my new controller and hooked it up. I purchased a Futaba 4YF 2.4ghz 4channel , and all functions work ! ( I don't have motorized trailer legs so I'm not sure bout that function ).
With this unit I can start and shut down the truck with the on/ off switch. Lights come on and off, hazard mode and rev mode also. I must say though, the thing can be a little temperamental. Sometimes hard to get out of hazard light mode and same with idle rev mode but I'm very happy now. My truck is complete and now hands free operation. I love it, can't wait to buy and build another truck this winter!

Thanks to all for your help.

No more erratic commands ! I figured out what was happening. If the left joystick is not centered and out a degree, the commands don't work right. Perfect center = perfect control of lights , hazards, etc.

Re: Looking to have all MFU functions

BTW i figured out by accident that because my servos are reversed if i move my left stick left and right stick up truck shuts down... still adding the pico switch but it does work for all functions with out adjusting trims, or switches. figured id share the info
