Where can I get a faulhaber 3557k012cr motor?
Anyone know where in US i can get a faulhaber 3557k012cr motor? I checked on ebay and I haven't found one with a CR suffix series and 12 volt. And plus everything on ebay comes with a gearhead attached to the motor.
This will go on a wedico Cat740 unless someone recommends a different motor to replace the stock Buhler motor? Looking for a little more power out of it. Thanks |

It needs to end with 12CR.
There are 3 variations. C = weaker than original buhler motor CS = slightly stronger than buhler CR = much stronger than buhler. Also 12 for 12 volts. Alot of them on ebay are 24cr for 24 volts. Thanks though for the search. |

the Faulhabers are great motors, especially where on need much power in a compact unit. The 3557 is a pretty pricey engine, and possible quite overkill when it comes to power on a 740) Can recommend to test the Servonaut TM120 motor, strong and a good price. (The one with a gearbox is called GM32U450) Use them with Tamiya trucks with semi tippers, twice the weigth of a 740 I would suppose, gets the job done. I'm not familiar with what motors are in the 740 originally, but have heard several complained about the power. Some even throw out the 3 speed, and put a 1 step planetary gearmotor.

Re: Where can I get a faulhaber 3557k012cr motor?
So I just bought a faulhaber 3557k006c (6 volt) version and I confirmed with faulhaber that I can run it on 12v but I would need to lower the speed since it will be running twice the speed with 12v. So I'm thinking if I limit my esc thru my radio and somewhat match the drive speed with the original buhler motor, do you guys think it will work out? I mean the motor I bought was $15 shipped so if it fries, I'm not too worried. Any thoughts?

I was not able to find any 12v version without a gearbox attached on ebay. I did not want to spend $400 for a new 12v CR version which is the one that I really need. I found the 6v C version for $15 shipped so I thought to myself as long as it does not harm the speed control, I'm ok if the motor burns out at $15. |
Re: Where can I get a faulhaber 3557k012cr motor?
Small update. I ended up getting a 6volt version for the faulhaber 3557k006c.
I'm going to limit the speed thru my radio so I wont over spin the motor since I'm using a 3s lipo. I sorta explain in the video. I'll have to test with actual load to see if it's any better from the original motor. https://youtu.be/nEnqP5FD0Y0 https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1818/...cff0555b_c.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1839/...4050a3e8_c.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1820/...e9b5de4b_c.jpg |
