Oldtimer tower crane

Hello all,

i have started this model in 2007 and this year i will finish it. The original was built by Liebherr in the 1950s and this kind of cranes are standard till end of 1960s.

Frame and tower are made in aluminum, the boom in brass. Max height is nearly 2 meters.

I haven't seen this one before. Super work all around. I can see why you have to operate it outdoors! I like the all metal construction. I reminds me somewhat of the modern tower cranes. I assume it will rotate and have operating drums and all, huh? Great piece of machinery. Dan

Wolfgang,

Nice. In one of your first pictures, what are you using for tires and wheels? They look very good.

Really nice job. I didn't see any but I suspect you are going to have outriggers so it will not topple over in high winds. Can't wait to see it finished.

Looks really good and seems to work well too.
