Off to a good start. It will be an awesome addition to your fleet.

Round ones made from rubber :p .... Found them on modelltruckforum.de

Finished the 2nd steering axle today:

Now to sort the steering, mechanical linkage or servo, can't decide, might try the linkage method first.

Then onto the hydro-tridem suspension, not sure how thats going to turn out...

Thanks for looking

Merci Frank!

Today I started the drawbar:

Fitted the draw bar:

http://i1252.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9b9loacj.jpg

Then converted the 1/10 shocks into single acting cylinders for the hydro-suspension:

Filled them with oil to create a closed loop hydraulic system:

Lots of hi-tech on this trl build Stuart  it's gonna be wondrous to see it in motion

Great job! How did you get the air bubbles out of the suspension system?

Thanks Frank,

I connected the 3 cyls with the hoses then turned them upside down without the pistons fitted.
Filled no.1 with oil and put the piston in, pushed gently until oil appeared in the bottom of no.2, filled no.2 with oil and fitted the piston but pushed it all the way in then did no.3.
That way when 1 cyl is fully closed the other 2 are fully extended, et voila!

It works a treat, there a little on the tight side, may need to take a tad out the piston groove to loosen it but I'll try it loaded first.
I worked out that with a 15Kg load the pressure in the cyls is around 9 bar, should be ok, I hope!

Having trouble with the steering geometry at the moment, I've got too much travel at the axle end and it reaches full lock too soon so need to tweak the angles a bit, will update once done.

Got the steering sorted then made some brass connecting rods:

Well that steering linkage system is gonna be comprised if you travel in extreme terrain!

Great work. However the straight axle should change place with the first steering axle. Otherwise the trailer try to go inside of the tractor and make two radius. Just my 2 cent. :)

Re: Joskin KTP27/65 Tridem

With 1st and 3rd axles steering they counter each other(front turns left rear turns right and vice versa) and allow for sharper turns without skidding the tires (should only leave one tire track that is undisturbed on each side).

That would work if the trailer/Wagon wasn't hooked to a tractor with a drawbar.
That changes the pivot point from the center of wagon to somewhere else depending on length of drawbar e.t.c. Look at the video and pic.:)

Re: Joskin KTP27/65 Tridem

I just watched a couple of videos on http://www.joskin.com/?page=transpor...7&user_lang=en and from what I saw it(the 1:1 version of what this one is modelled off of) works pretty much exactly like I described so I don't see why with a little fine tuning on linkages that the model would be any different.
