Kenworth W900L (daycab)

Well here goes my attempt at a 900L. I've been gathering parts for quite some time and doing a little work here and there for the past month or two. Still gathering parts as I go. If I can't do the body work any justice at least it will be a good showcase for the vendors parts. :D I am not doing everything to scale, just to what I can figure with my eye and pictures. I do plan on installing lights for the first time on this truck too.

So.. I extended the cab

Made my own personal rear window

Made a mold for the hood so I could make it one piece

heated the styrene in the oven (first to 300 then up to 350 to tighten up to the form) then trimmed it up

Still a long ways to go but feeling pretty good about my progress.

Looking Ben, nice job on the hood form. Innovative approach. Can't wait to see more.

Just remember, in replicas – measurements are good, but what looks pleasing to the eye is of much more importance.

Your truck is looking really good. :) :) :)

We will all be watching with anticipation as your work progresses. :D :D :p

I like the custom rear window. And the hood is cool. Plus being a KW build always peaks my interest. Looking good.

Wow! i was really leaning towards a 900b on my next build but how can you argue with the big "L". Very cool.

Really nice work, Ben. Your hood, fenders, and cab modifications turned out great! Looks like a very good start to a W900L.

Ben the truck is looking great so far.

Sandcraft is saying put an arched backer piece on the inside of the fender where you made all the cuts to reinforce the fender.

Sweet looking truck Snochaser! I like the idea of using an oven to heat styrene to fit a mold. Great progress.

Re: Kenworth W900L (daycab)

Well haven't done a whole lot with the cab, I did however cut the entire nose off cause I didn't like the angle. I thought it needed more downward slope, so I have reattached it now and I'm fill'n and sand'n.
