Large diametre Aluminium Rod

Hey team, not RC truck related, but I'm looking for a a supplier of larger (10", 12" or greater) diametre aluminium rod (and 4" alloy sheet). The local NZ suppliers are charging a kings ransom. So long as the vendor is willing to ship to CA, I'd be keen to learn of any US based suppliers. I can get container freight to NZ from CA at a great rate. A lot to go through for some rod, but am getting tired of the reaming the local suppliers are only happy to hand out. Cheers

Try Metal Supermarkets. I buy locally from them, not sure of price for that huge stuff. Probably have outlet in CA. Online Metal is good too. One other thought is McMaster Carr. Not sure if they carry that.

Try Clinton Aluminum in Ohio USA

Order flatbar the desired thickness then, You may be able to bandsaw cut your round from plate slightly oversize then turn in your lathe.

I miss read your post.
You want large quantity. Check with supplier I mentioned. I don't know where my extrusion suppliers get their billets.
But that may be worth checking into. They buy rounds in various diameters to use in their presses.

Thanks guys - the prices would suggest we are paying exceptionally good money here in NZ for this stuff......by the time I add freight on, it's still looking quite good to buy from over there - just the time factor in getting the stuff (sea freight) is the unattractive factor... No such thing as a quick, accurate and cheap job eh? :D
