HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

5 Attachment(s)
Hi Peeps.
I have received today , the china hemtt kit and will give my rundown on it.
these are only my own personal views.
Parcelling, good to fair. parts quality very good indeed. clean cut out of the mould. plastic very strong good thickness, and excellent finish. easily cut by dremel tool.
Downside, was that it was described on the customs sheet as. "an old built plastic car model. and that bothered me.
on opening I found that indeed it was mostly built, but new in appearance,
lots of extra bits and pieces. so I concluded that the price I paid reflected that .
I will not rate it out of 10 until I get some answers from the seller.
and will only name them when I am certain of what I was sold, but I am so far
very pleased with what I have to work with,
I wi now try and load the 5 pics I am allowed.
Cheers Wads :)

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

They describe it as old used etc. so you don't have to pay top $ import duties. When I got my Capo it was marked down as "scrap model bits" on the paperwork with a declared value of $10! ...

Also this is the 4th topic on your kit. Would appreciate it if you just continued here and not start a new topic every time. :)

Looks like a nice kit. Looking forward to see some pics of how it goes together.

I thought you had a Photobucket account. If you use that one, you can have 15 pics per post. Also this is what I see with the way you now post your pics. Have to click the ? marks to see the pics.

Hello Stephen.
Thanks for your message,
My first question is, are you an administrator ???.
Because your message sounds a bit heavy handed, laying down the law, so to speak.
I am 78 yrs old, not computer literate, and like things that are easy to understand.
I will do as you ask ,if I can, but I do not know how to keep it all in one post.
I have only got this far with the friendly approach.
Sorry to sound negative, but I am in this hobby for pleasure, not a hard time.
I can allways keep my builds to my self.
Cheers Wads78

Wads,

That kit looks very interesting, looking forward to your updates. Where did you purchase it at?

As far as your question on how to keep it in one post, simply go below the last post and hit the Post Reply button. That will bring up a window to allow you to keep adding to this thread.

Wads, You are doing GREAT! Not too many guys or gals at 78 would be even thinking about building a vehicle let alone trying to post a build on a forum. up9018 is correct, just use the Post Reply button to add to this thread when you have more things to add. I have this same body kit from a different supplier and am very interested in what you have to say about the kit.

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

Hi All.
Thanks for the glad hands,
First reply, I will keep the china based seller quiet at the moment, ai I believe that I have been sold a s/h kit, as it was mostly put together, and a lot of pieces that were separate had glue marks on then, several items are missing
and there is a lot of extra pieces all ready on the build, that were never meant to be there.
on top of that it was built A..e about face, and I hhave spent most of my time dismantling it and rebuilding as it was meant to be.
Also I am cutting to fit my particular chassis.
So it is slow. but as soon as I get something worth showing I will post it.
Thanks for the info regarding the same post,
As I have been painstakingly cutting ali strechers all afternoon, that is after gluing them with cryo, I am having a rest,
Cheers for now and thanks.
Wads78. :)

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

To TC1CAT.
Thanks for the help.
I have said most of what is needed to say. but I will add, that if I had received an unmade kit with all the pieces there should have been,in the proper box then I would have given it 10/10. and praised the seller,
However I did not, so deduct 5, the upside is that the seller has saved me a lot of build work, and the finish is good, add 3, plus all the extra pieces are helpful and can be used
add 1. so I end up with nine out of ten.
his way of doing business is different than ours I guess. so overall.
Excellent kit choose another seller. if you want an unadulterated kit and all to do,
I will now get out my trusty leica and take some snap shots.
Cheers for now Wads. p.s. how about some pics of yours, "truck that is". !!

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

Hi John, nope, I'm not an administrator, just someone with a very slow internet connection who would love to follow your build, but got frustrated because it takes ages to see your pics this way, guess it showed through in my reply ... no intention on giving you a hard time.

In one of your other threads you indicate you got Photobucket. If you want I can send you how to post pictures from there without using attachments.

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

Hi Stephen.
Yes please ,you may not be the only one with pigeon post, as we call it.
When I first went on the web it took an hour and five minute to download 20mb.and even then the chances of b,t, cutting you off were 35%.
If I can make it easier for anyone with slow connections then I will be pleased to do so,
So yes please send me the instructions.
Many thanks John W.

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

Hi Stephan.
I have been through your files, they are excellent, but by the time I have, done one item I have forgotten where I am. and have to go back to the beginning.
I have reduced all my p.b. pics to 800x600. so it may be easier for you to see them , etc
please check out my last reply, there is one on there of the chassis which I have vignetted. let me know if I can help.
and many thanks for your time.
Cheers John W/

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

Hi John, nice paint job on the cab!
Looks like a real job fitting and lining the body to the frame.

As far as progress goes, not so slow either. You only got the kit on the 1st of the month! :)

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

Hi Stephen.
The paint job is actually fairly rough , but it will meld in when I get all the bits n pieces in place, its marrying all the separate parts so they can be taken apart for maintenance or repair which is a pain.
But all part of the fun.
I have some more to post so keep posted.
Cheers John W

So, who manufactures the kit?

it would be neat if you pics showed up

Re: HEMTT KIT UNBOXED.

To Kaptain Jack.
It is advertised on ebay, in military trucks, by sylvain1975-rc.
at 298 us $, approx. £200 gbp.
I can heartily recommend it if it comes in full kit form, it is as tough as old boots.
and makes up very well.
Cheers John W.

Hi Peeps.
A little further along, a lot of cleaning up to do to make it presentable,
but first things first, the mechanics.
5 more photos I hope.
