Just what I like to see

This is what my goal in this hobby is to see at a show. This scene is in 1/50th though. But the dragline is operational.

NICE!!!!! Where did you find this gem steve? Any video of it working? I can,t imagine working in 1/50th scale but this is a very nice model.

Ya, that looks like fun! Wonder how many of the trucks and dozers are also RC?

I got all these pictures from Stripmine forum this morning.

Steve,

Do you know any more about it? Is it a die cast conversion or all scratch? Is it plastic? Great level of detail!

Love the partly covered permanent layout.

Re: Just what I like to see

After watching the video I would say it works close to 1:1 machines. I did notice he probably does not have proportional control but it is a GREAT model. Jim-about the 1/50 scale trucks-Many years ago I tried to R/C a 1/50th Cat 777D and trust me-it was a nightmare. I got the steering working, got a rec. in it and got the drive motor and gearing working and could drive it around with a 6-Volt bat. laying in the box but there was no way to make the dump work and get batteries & esc in it. WAY TO SMALL!! I'm sure somebody can do it but not me. So I used the scale model for measurements to build my 1/30th scale truck and it was almost too small.

I know nothing about it. But I think the guy is from France.
If you want to convert a diecast walking dragline, look for one of the Bucyrus 8750 models. https://www.google.com/search?q=bucy...w=1920&bih=912

More info on this diorama from another site. Would be so cool if all were rc.

That is a very impressive lay-out!! I noticed another nice looking dragline in one picture. With all the micro parts available now someone could probably R/C a 1/50th scale truck. (Good project for some body). Steve-with a diorama that size your 9W would be right at home there.

Came across another set of working draglines. These are in 1/50th scale. Jim are you looking?

Nice find steve-these are-2-very nice models. I am impressed that someone can build this small and keep that level of detail. I maybe could have done that 30-35 years ago but that is really good work.
