Brother and I plan on being there. Booked the hotel yesterday. Should get there late Friday night depending on how work goes that Friday.

I'm going to call the hotel today. According to Ben they're charging a bunch for the rooms for some conference. I'll see if I can't get a special rate.

I'm paying 106. With AAA discount, that's about what it's always been. If you talk to the manager/owner, she should come down for us according to what she said when I talked to her during the spring meet.

I'm not getting anywhere unfortunately with special rates. I will be able to reserve a block of rooms for shows so we won't have the issue we did in the spring.

Foster Inn is probably your best bet if the Best Western is too steep for your wallet. The exterior of the building is not encouraging, but I've heard all the rooms were remodeled over the last couple years.

Y'all gonna miss a good time. It's the only show in the US that Im aware of that we can do what we want.... we can build roads, excavate a mini mine or whaterever. We have space that is all ours, why is it so hard for us to show up and enjoy?

Life and poor planning.

I'm concerned if I drop the money on a trommel and other scale site stuff that it wouldn't make any difference in the turnout.

I had planned on coming, had the hotel reserved and all, but had to drop about $500 into my real truck a couple weeks ago. This year has been really busy for me overall, moved to another state, started a new job, bought a house, bought all new furniture, traveled for work for over a month, etc, etc... I'll have to plan on attending next years spring meet. Once I know the dates I will get the time off requested, just like with all the other meets.

Your probably right Nate. I doubt it will make a difference. I guess if people don't want to play in the dirt they won't show up even though there is a huge amount of concrete to run on. It's too bad, we always have a good time!
