homebrew dirt sifter

I did a little work on a quick homebrew sifter over the weekend nothing fancy just metal mansion screen and wood frame with adjustable angle. Was trying to get more vibration out of it seeing how the dirt was damp and clumpy. Enter the harbor freight mini grinder and yes its very mini. I removed the grinding stone and added unbalanced steel slugs and this thing is border line scary now. screen is spring mounted and it has no problem tossing a full roll of duct tape. thinking about adding a dimmer contol as it only has one speed. will link to youtube once i get a running video.

https://youtu.be/43M9MdrOL7M .. Thats my plant manager testing all sorts of items to see if it meets her specifications. Like I said before it isn't pretty but it works. Hopefully I can get some videos of it in the dirt over the weekend.

wanting to make the frame out of steel, just a mock up for angle and to get the shaking at the right speed as not to throw the rocks just sift them out.

You going to just run an extension cord out to the work site or try and get it independently powered? Nice size, You'll have to get the "plant manager" on a machine as well to keep that sucker fed.

as for power, I was going to trench the cable into the ground. Once I make the frame in steel, I can hide the wire in the frame. Hoping to bulid up the grade around the shaker high enough to clean out the sifted dirt with the loader. as is its a little to low

well I made a few more mods to the sifter by loosening the bolts that hold the grinder to the screen, it now only shakes when weight is applied to the screen making it wisper quiet when unloaded. Also dug a small pit with angled roadway for loader to retrieve sifted material. If and when it ever stops raining I'll get a video of it in the dirt. Was also toying with the idea of placing a second screen on top slightly off center to reduce material size even further. I will keep you guys posted on how that works out.

https://youtu.be/ARXVVW581Q8. . just a quick clip of a bucket load to see how fast it can be processed.. a pit will be dug to collect the rock and debris, as it over loads in just a few loads.
