Tamiya gearboxes

Hey all, I was wondering how the tamiya gearboxes perform. Specifically the high power one. I see people use the twin gearboxes in their 963's and was wondering if it would be similar if I used the high power one in a loader?

They both have different engines though. What are the differences in the 130 and the 260? Is the 130 more turns and/or more powerful?

The 260 is a bigger, more powerful motor than the 130. Most of their gearboxes come with wimpy 3v blue endbell motors that burn out pretty quick at 7.2v, so plan on buying a new set. Also get a stack of shims so you can get the gear teeth to overlap properly, or you'll lose ability to handle torque due to gears sliding on the shafts.

If you've got the space, the bigger one has the power and is probably more durable.

I haven't played with either of the dual motor gearboxes yet i'm still collecting parts for a Bruder build, and i'm not sure what a 963 is.

My Scale Art track loader is a Caterpillar 963, and I think the Bruder model is too.
