Bruder Loader conversion to RC Doozan

I've been bitin by the Bruder loader conversions out there and figured I'd give it a go. But I want to do it in Orange, so I'll go after the Doozan DL200. So I ripped it apart and started cutting away plastic to fit everything in. I also wanted it to lift over the side of my DM800 so I made new lift arms out of 1/8" aluminum 1" longer than stock, now it it lifts up to 10". I also picked up one of Reggie's aluminum buckets. Mock up is basically finished so now I can rip it apart and start painting orange.

Looks great - nice job on the arms! I'm probably behind on this but what drive system, axles, wheels & tires are you using?

Ken

Thanks Ken, I went with the same drive train that Brian used. (Thanks Brian, for the engineering). It's a Axial trans, 1/14 semi axles, RC4WD tires and rims.

I made a front plate to strengthen up the lifting base, I'm getting a full 11" lift to the bottom of the bucket when level. A few pics of the drive train.

It looks great Keith! I'm glad you like the bucket. I'm sure you and Brian will get some good use out of them. It's interesting to see how many different ways there are to go about converting these. You have pretty much done exactly the opposite of everything I did or vice versa and yet the end result is nearly the same function wise. Thanks for posting some conversion pictures. How is the driveshaft supported in the center?

Yeah Reg, love the bucket. It's inspired me to add more aluminum, who knows I might keep going. The two driveshafts from the rears connect to a Axial trans mounted to the bottom of the rear frame, then a third shaft to the HPI gear reduction unit.

gotta stop with holding pics bro, this is going to be the nicest Doosan Front loader out there...

Very cool build.

Question?

Will it have the needed weight to lift a full load in the bucket? Just something to think about. Even the real machines get light in the rear with a full scoop.

Thanks, yeah weight will not be a problem in the bucket. I'm building it basically the same as Brian's Snow White, with BB's in the tires and the batteries in the counterweight he has no problem lifting a full bucket of rubber or dirt. So I think I'll be ok in that area.

Small update, I made up some more aluminum parts for the bucket today. And then modified the rear suspension to have articulation.

Nice work!. I need a heap of small bolts like those little black ones in pic 2 for my build. Can you tell me where you obtained them please. Thanks.
