What's your favorite tool?
I was cutting a piece and turned on the mill when endmill was below part, took a chunk out of endmill and probably have to tram mill now. Not happy!! These two endmills are my two favorite tools, well they were, the longer one got chewed up by too deep of cut on some hardened tool steel. Just got me thinking what everyone els has for favorite tool, machine.

Re: What's your favorite tool?
Might sound dumb but I get a kick out of my cordless dremel, use it for all kinds of jobs. Then again don't know what I would do without my air compressor really handy to have.

Re: What's your favorite tool?
I have no pics right now because my favorite tools are in my tool box at work. I've got wrenches from my grandfathers tools, from a manufacture that doesn't exist anymore, but the wrenches still do to this day.....Guess that's why they ain't around anymore:rolleyes:
and a few handmade pry bars and chisels made by him which I use all the time.they work so well, the angle, the strength. He knew what he was doing when he made them way back then. I see his initials engraved on them each time I use. :) |
Re: What's your favorite tool?
My favourite tool is my Cameron drill press really accurate and tiny and I can move to different benches . My number 2 tool is my Delta 10 inch table saw good for wood aluminum and brass sheet ! http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/...psjd3ugar5.jpg

"What's your favorite tool?"
The one that saves the day (and my butt) on the project I'm working on! ;) Really... I don't have a fancy mill machine, an expensive lathe or even a 3-D printer (well, not yet), but if I did I would be in more trouble as far as things to do than I have now! :bounce: Jeff |

Re: What's your favorite tool?
This Milwauke tote bag with 18v drill & 1/4" impact, best cordless tools I've ever had... might charge each pack 3x a yr... entire month of seeding the 1/4 impact used several times daily buzzing hose clamps to clear seed run blockages, one charge with power to spare! I think I got them summer of '10.

Re: What's your favorite tool?
Years ago I bought a drill and impact cordless set, I needed a new drill and it was cheaper with batteries to get the combo. I never thought I would use the impact for much. After having it and driving 6" screws into gluelams I don't know how I put homes together without one!!! I hear ya Joe, cordless drill have come a long way. Building decks I rarely use any corded tools, except for chop saw and circular saw. Have 4batteries on job and only have to change once in a full day of driving deck screws into decking, three screws at each joist only pre drilling end pieces. That is also one of my favorites. Have this one in shop and I think I'm going from December on last charge. Use it to change collets

Re: What's your favorite tool?
More than anything Cooper it's battery technology has improved immensely... I bought a 3spd Dewalt cordless drill, maybe 2002, always stored in the warmth of the house, not used too often & both batteries couldn't hold a charge a couple yrs later. That 14v Dewalt cost more than the two Milwaukes together. :(
My neighbor has Bosch cordless gear, couple yrs ago framed & sheeted in a 26x26 garage in one day with cordless skill saw, 3 packs worth... impressive! |
Re: What's your favorite tool?
Yep, on my 18V milwuakee hammer drill, 1 batt will out last 1 24volt batt on my former dewalt hammer drill . Now the dewalt powers the cat 990 . Dewalt has good motors , but their batts aren't the best .
