You're Welcome Jack.
I forgot to say you make cool stuff with high finish. I'm going to follow you'r progress for sure. If i'm not far off this is one of the first buses in this part of the world. Would love to see in person.......good luck with your project Jack.

That's a great start already, can't wait to see how this turns out. It's nice to see building with a pencil and coping saw instead of a laser plotter.

Is this patterned on a real one? Tour or long range luxury bus?

Would a frame mod for a lower floor height help?

Re: Let the build begin. Coach bus.

Thanks for the link, Frizzen, the reason I chose for the subfloor: is to add rigidity to the tall structure and to have extra space for compartment. Bulkheads are just scraps of material, since, once complete, become invisible, but carry the functionality.
I used 3mm (1/8'') styrene for the same reasons of durability and rigidity, also the thickness helps to round the corners for more aesthetic look. And speaking of rounding the corners. When using the file, common mistake is to move the file in the shape of the curve, its logical, but wrong! exactly the opposite is what will give you a right curve. When working the corner, the file must resemble a bottom of rocking chair, swinging in an opposite circle motion. As a young man I worked as a goldsmith and first thing they teach you,is how to make ring by filing down a square profile.

Do you have plans to make a tutorial video of this procedure? I struggle very much trying to file corners. I've ONLY built a couple things from scratch, & both were small add ons. Each one I couldn't get the edges rounded quite the way they shoulda been.

I believe he's saying with round-overs it's best to start the point of the file flatter on the side away from you, and bring the face through the corner of the material while pushing the file, with the heel and tang coming to a rest flatter on the other side of the corner closer to you.

To engrave the compartment lines, I used the exacto knife (a technic I learned a while ago,thx to someone who shared it on the web.) All you have to do is heat slightly the tip of the knife, so, it would bend without breaking. To draw the lines use a ruler or straight edge. From my experience, light draws towards your self repeated several times is much better and accurate, then more aggressive heavy handed once, the tip will dig in and cause uneven groves. When done, I use my thumb nail running it along the grove to get rid of the burr and polish it slightly at the same time. Hope it helps the once who want try the technic themselves.
