Re: STX conversion
Great link, Frank. He has done a great job with the conversions. I hope to get mine operating that smoothly.

I'm doing away with the single point pivot to the inside of the track frame which would wear over time causing the track frame to come out of alignment thus , alowing the track to come off . the 1's I'm building is similar to the real 1's not as detailed but will function the same . thanks for lookin Ben , pic of the insides http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/PIC_1693.jpg |
Re: STX conversion

Re: STX conversion
Steve - your doin g whagt I couldn't - remaking hte track frames for better alignment..... great upgrade!
The transmission was from RC4WD - its has metal gears and a machined aluminum case - twin 55 turn motors..... the differentials came from a Duratrax Nitro Quake - see last pic..... some more pics of the original build up..... http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0007_IMG_8.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...006_IMG_10.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0005_IMG_9.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0001_IMG_6.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0010_IMG_5.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0005_IMG_5.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0012_IMG_3.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0015_IMG_3.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0012_IMG_4.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0007_IMG_4.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0004_IMG_5.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...0010_IMG_2.jpg |

Re: STX conversion
They are the cell pack from a dewalt 12v drill unit - They didn't work out so well though..... probably half shot to begin with (garage sale drill)
