Cheap speakers for sound unit?

I found these little speakers today at Princess Auto. They were $2.99 for the pair so I thought why not. Anyway, I have no idea if they would work for a sound unit but they are quite small and loud. If anyone thinks they will work then I will buy more before they are sold out.

Let me know what you guys think!

I would be interested in trying a set. They would definitely be a better fit for my track loader. Let me know how you want to work it out.

I scooped up what they had of these today. I have a total of ten pairs but I think I will keep a few for myself:D. If anyone wants to try them let me know and we'll work something out. I can't say for sure if they will work properly so it is a bit of a gamble I guess.

You're welcome Travis and thanks for posting the video. It sounds like they work well so I'm glad that I bought a bunch of them!

It is a Servonaut SMT but I noticed they are discontinued now and replaced by the SM3.

Just for anyone's notes they are 8ohm 2watt speakers.

Re: Cheap speakers for sound unit?

You must have got some? Good to know that they are 8ohm. I think that is what most sound modules use isn't it?

Thanks for the update!

anybody tried one with MFU??

I'm starting on a king hauler build with the sleeper already FULL of stuff - battery pack, MFU, extra servo for locking diffs, electronics for wireless trailer....so smaller speaker would be good....

I tested one last night on an MFC unit and it worked fine. Not as loud as the stock speaker but if you run 2 in parallel it will increase the volume and at full volume with one speaker I didn't have any distortion. Biggest thing is how small they are compared to the stock MFC speaker.

Haha, yeah that's what happened at our local store too once I tried one on our home stereo. They are probably thinking, Wow, what a popular item!

At my local one, when I showed the girl what it was online she knew she had seen them but had no clue what they were until I asked about them. And at that they were mixed in with another product that it shouldn't have been with. lol

If anyone is interested in any of these speakers I was just at my local princess auto and they had 20 packages on the rack.
