Re: Winter Hide Out
Matt a very nice warm basement to work in you lucky stiff. It looks like you are pretty good with you cnc machines I am going to give a mill a try I think. Setting it up isn't the problem but running it will be. I have a Micro Mark lathe and mill and thinking about converting the mill. Welcome a board hope you enjoy your self. Ed

Re: Winter Hide Out
nice basement matt, more like a full size shop
hay jammer how do you like your micr mark lathe and mill. thinking of getting one steve |
Re: Winter Hide Out
Bodyman they are all right for the price but you have to spend a lit of time setting them up by this I mean you have to fit the gibs in the V ways I hand sanded them on a pieces if thick glass and 400, 600 and 1000 wet and dry sand paper. I also put brass shims it the slide on the lathe. Now I am thinking of cnc for the mill. Ed

Yeah, I bought every Swarf rat video they had and spent days on the net, and taught myself. The first thing I built was the wrist, of course it took two years to get it right, and the second thing I did was make stuff for the CNC conversions. Few trys there too! I don't know if maybe I shouldn't start out making a cable dozer first or something instead of Hyd. I run a portable Rock crushing spread at work that takes about 15 semi trips to move. I've offen thought of starting at the Primary jaw crusher and Modeling the whole spread 1 piece at a time. Its mostly all run by electric motors, so RC/ing it wouldn't be bad. And I know it like the back of my hand........."the right one".......LOL Matt Matt |

It isn't much he says, who is he kidding?

Re: Winter Hide Out
Matt, What a great hideaway you have there. That crusher would be a neat project. I like that Whitetail too! Fred

I'm still looking for possible projects, haven't settled on any yet. I like the older iron too, and have been looking into some old cable dozer's, scrapers, and drag lines. Looking for some info on them also. Matt |
Re: Winter Hide Out
a small screening plant would be cool
then the trucks could dump in a hopper for you to screen and other trucks could haul it off to use as road base gardens etc then you would need a trailer office and a maintance shed and and lol doing great for only 2 years better than my 25 years have fun |
Re: Winter Hide Out
A screening plant like this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yarck1mWz8E I'd be interested in aquiring a jaw crusher myself. A four or five inch opening capable of crushing tennis ball size rocks to pea size. ;) I have some pics of one german modeller's start of one a few yrs ago, but hasn't yet finnished... don't know why. PM email addy & I could send them to you. Have you considerd getting a patent for your 4axis prosthetic wrist? It looks pretty trick! |

Red granite gravel pit? I run through Halder every once in awhile, see conveyor belts, belly dumpers, and quad axles all over around there
