Need something to pull step deck.
Well time for a bad to the bone tractor. So lowered, stretched & whacked the sleeper. Now that I've pieced it together to get a look, almost think I should put the sleeper (shortened) back on it. Let me know what you think,& there will be two pipes.

Re: Need something to pull step deck.
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, Fred! Day cab for sure. Who needs sleep? We'll get plenty when we are in the dirt! :D I like the large car day cab look. If you want something different in the rear, I'd suggest you do a day cab conversion kit wall in the back. Leave the headache rack off, so everyone can see it. I was going to do one myself someday, because it's different, but you can be the first! Put those styrene skills you have to work.
Here's a picture of a cab conversion kit. Plugs the opening where the sleeper used to be. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...ld/l185209.jpg There is a black Peterbilt 379 running around here that looks really sharp. Used to have a sleeper, but now it's a day cab. Has a kit on it, like the one above. I always see it hauling a ragged, busted up dump trailer, loaded with metal scrap. Gives me ideas for my own truck. |
Re: Need something to pull step deck.
No sleeper, and I don't care for the rack either. A rack like Steve's would be the cats a$$.

Re: Need something to pull step deck.
Fill in the back of the cab and run a flush mounted deck plate from cab to fifth wheel and add a T-light bar on the back for that largecar look.

Drop the sleeper and rack, Freddy. Shorten frame to match the new look with a smaller fuel tank, too.
