Wow, that's nice!

Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
You are a fantastic engineer!
Nice work on this dozer, it should also perform well being so heavy, dozers need good ground weight for tractive force Very nice, I will follow this build |
Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
Looks like you were doing some heavy pushing already judging by the bent grousers:cop:. The attachments look great as usual and I don't want you to take this the wrong way but is it bad that I am more intrigued by what might be in the background? I know you are sitting on another set of expensive tires so I am guessing this will be their home?....
Keep up the great work! Starting on a dozer very soon myself so this helps me get motivated. |
Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
Good eye Reg , there's actually 3 of them .
Thanks all dozers are my passion . They say I was born in the seat of 1 . Paul , yes the more weight the better . |
Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
I too love all the dozers. This looks great!! Can't wait to see more!!

I did it in 2 setups with a manual face off on the back side . Next pic shows firgelli , only a temp rig up for this wknd . http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psxupvzrlw.jpg |

I want one to.

Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
Hi steve-I am always impressed by you and 9w making parts from steel. I can't do that!!! I just ruin tooling. I guess that is the difference in a machinist and a backyard-hacker. Guess I will stick with brass and aluminum. Your dozer looks good and I am sure it will work good.

Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
thanks guys .
Tom, I love cutting steel . Aluminum and I have a love hate relationship when I started with it on the cnc equip. I took a break from polishing :blea: and pushed some hard ground with it :D Plenty of power . I'll see if I can doo a vid on sunday . tomorrow will just be rubber pit |
Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
Your going to go play in crumb rubber? I thought you swore that stuff off.

Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
I did get some crappy phone vids with the phone in the cab and some machining parts . but I might not live long enough till they upload
Any how , the boss told me to take time for myself  so I finished up the bosses on the blade ( tilt and angle ) . I'm trying new software , so it's a pleasant go so far compared to the hobby grade package I started with :bounce: angle boss model http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psmrwokwlg.jpg parts http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psd682fcfd.jpg yes i doo doo some manual machining, simple hole  http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...pse5ce5a8d.jpg spot welded in place http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps598f24da.jpg tilt boss model http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps42a67d12.jpg part I kinda like the plasma cut look . A lil filing or sanding and it disappears http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psafad8483.jpg spot welded in place http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps3288b143.jpg outside pushin http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...psbb2bacbb.jpg |

Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
Thanks Chris , we got a couple runnin around here . Picking up steel yesterday at surplus yard yesterday there was 1 cleaning up the pipliner's mess I almost got close enough to see how cat connects the lift cylinders while 4 guys in hard hats changing the cutting edges ( 1 doing the werk and 3 BSin ) gave me a funny look . proly thought I was gona yell at em for werkin under the blade with no support  (idiots ) If dad caught me doin that back in the day :eek: . anyhow , I'm just improvising

Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
I worked on the tank and ROP this weekend . I didn't fuss on the inside of the tank , not that it will be seen . :o

Re: cat D6T 6 way blade
Looking good Steve. This should definitely add some weight for traction too!
