They are R/C Channel axles and they are a little wider than the Tamiya axles. I read that some had issues with the gears in them and the better gears for them are an upgrade making them more expensive than they already are. Here is a link to their site Click Here. You may try doing some searches on this forum as well as scale for info on them.

I've been eyeing these up as well! They are a little wider, only by 10mm, but that's 5mm per side, which is only .1967". The brake drum casting/drive hex is what makes them wider, but on all the Tamiya rigs I have seen, the difference isn't noticable in the least. Dreamweaver's Classy Shack comes to mind. He's got a set under his truck, and they look really nice. All the major dimensions are identical to the Tamiya rig axles, except RC Channel's axles are a little thinner (cross section). 12mm vs. 15mm.

I never heard of anyone having gear problems. What failed exactly? If there is an gear upgrade set offered somewhere, I wouldn't mind finding that information out. Please share the link to that too.

I get a little closer everyday to buying a set of the RC Channel axles. I think they look a lot nicer, and they are metal, even if cast.

Nate the diff gears are not splined like a Tamiya they have a shaft with two flat spots like an axial crawler axle and have the same problem of stripping out the gear just like the axial's strip out the aluminum locker which guys replace with a steel locker. I don't think they offer better gears than the pot metal ones they come with. Link to diff gears.

Oh, that's to bad. I saw some E-Bay listings with other RC Channel axles, but for other Tamyia trucks. One had a new gearset that had been redesigned, supposedly. The diff carrier was anodized yellow-ish orange. Interesting. Thanks for the info.
