2s lipo to 3v motor?

I DON'T know much about electronics. I do know there is a way to reduce power, but not how. I have a project I'll be doing, & I know the drive motor is a 3V motor. How do I get from the 7.2V <IF I remember correctly> to the 3 volts that the motor is rated for? I really don't want to burn up the drive motors that are in it.

Use a voltage regulator. If you don't need more than 3 amps you can use this Dimension Engineering 25W adjustable regulator. It will adjust down to 3 volts.

Hope this helps.
