Rear Bumpers

I've been busy making bumpers and related parts off and on for the last few days while I wait for the Gravel Train to be coated. I provide these bumpers with my truck dump bed kits but I also sell them separately. They fit standard Tamiya frame rails and mount using existing holes. The two stacks on the left are sold but that leaves me with some extras to sell. $30USD each, plus $5USD shipping. I can also drill them for lights upon request(@ $5USD charge per bumper).

Note: Canadian orders are subject to sales tax.

Re: Rear Bumpers

I made up some more bumpers. I also bought some of Russ's tail light bezels so that they could go with them upon request. The bumpers need a bit more cleanup but you get the idea. The V shape would be perfect for a heavy haul or dump truck.

I'm getting some more of these done this coming week if anyone else is interested.

I also just setup this one with a Garden Trucking pintle hitch. The hitch comes setup with the chains installed on the truck side so I made up some rings on the bumper to change it around to the correct setup. I also drilled two sets of mounting holes with a 4mm offset to adjust the height if necessary. I'm not sure if it's visible in the photos but the hook on the left is much larger than the one on the right. Not sure what happened there:confused::confused:

Re: Rear Bumpers

In the pics above, where the small jam nut is, on the pintle eyelet, can you custom make one that would be 5 inches long, from that nut? I need a compensator for a PNW stylr logging truck I will be building this winter. I think.......................there I go thinking again...............IF I did math right (NOT good at math) 5 inches, in 1/14 scale should equal 9 feet of real life?

skeeter 08-06-2017 03:50 PM

Re: Rear Bumpers

I ONLY need/want the farthest away from the eye, the last quarte of an inch threaded. The rest would need to be smooth.

I didn't make the pintle hitch. It is from Garden Trucking(Precision Model Distributors).

OK!:bounce::bounce: I will drop it off to be coated on Tuesday(black right?). It's a holiday here tomorrow for the privileged people that have Monday to Friday type jobs. Hopefully I will have it back before the end of the week.

Yes Sir, gloss black. No hurry. Thank you.

RCP57 08-06-2017 05:35 PM

Re: Rear Bumpers

Are you sure you want gloss? All the rest are velvet black(semi gloss) and that matches stock frame rails very well.

Claus 08-06-2017 06:51 PM

Re: Rear Bumpers

OK, you know what you're doing, make it semi gloss!

Depending on the thread of the pintle why not try some aluminum rods like rock crawlers use for links?

5" in 1/14 is 5.8 feet.
7.714" in 1/14 is 9 feet or 195mm

http://www.axialracing.com/products/ax30518 so if the lunette ring uses m3 x.5 then 2 of these would work, and get a m3 setscrew to connect them for 196mm.
