Re: Cat looking loader
Had some time to work on the loader. So I got one of the steering cylinders mounted I have all the brackets for the other side made so it should go quickly.

Re: Cat looking loader
Hello Radar very nice work so far. I see you use mostly steel that is good it will last a lifetime. Ed

Re: Cat looking loader
How come you didn't go with the TXT-1 axles? It's more than twice the reduction and a lot more mass grabbing with the gears vs just a crown & pinion.
|
Re: Cat looking loader
I used those axels be cause I had them I know thay won't last long. But I will look into those if ya don't mind send me a link were I can get them thx for the info
|
Re: Cat looking loader
Looking for a link I see the axle/trk kit was discontinued in 2012, but some good alternatives would be the Blackwell axles..
http://store.rc4wd.com/Blackwell-X1-...xle_p_451.html ... or even the Bully Comp axles (I've never used them myself) eliminating the need for a transmission, transfer case & driveshafts. http://store.rc4wd.com/Bully-2-Compe...le_p_3324.html |
Re: Cat looking loader
The txt 1 axles were the best. Too bad they don't make them anymore

The axle used in most German loaders and dumpers with a traditional driveline. |
Re: Cat looking loader
Nice - wish I had the skills to build my own!
Since short, ScaleArt has added a drive axle for wheel loaders to their catalog. Bit pricey though. 425 € with 19% sales tax and 358 € without the tax https://scaleart-shop.de/en/Drive-Te...l-loaders.html |
Re: Cat looking loader
you have cat paint and deere logos, but looks cool. Hope I can make one 1 day
|
Re: Cat looking loader

Re: Cat looking loader
Got the last two ears tacked on the bucket and the connecting rod made. And started running lines almost time to test it. I will finish welding it when I know it works right

If i remember correct i saw some discussion somewhere not sure where. The HD one was way better.............wish i knew. After my last fight with RC4WD and delivery time, resulted in they changed most of the higher value parts out of stock on the site. just wonder why ? they order them from Asia anyway. So instead of looking on the site....waiting for stock....to come back....it newer will. Send them a mail ask what they have in stock of what you need and have them send that. And order what they need to ship from Asia Separately Just my 2 c |
Re: Cat looking loader
rcbrmin has some transmissions and I think they might be the same sh!t as RC4WD. Not sure if they have stock either though as I haven't checked.
