Battery

Hey all, I'm at the dry fitting stage of my loader build, and I was wondering what kind of battery do I use? I want an 11.1 volt, because I want full power from my pump (it's a 12 volt).
However; I'm worried about the size of the 4000-5000 batteries because space is an issue. I'd like to use the 5000 mah ones because that's what's in the rc4wd loader, but they are pretty big. I'd like to be able to use a smaller sized 11.1 like a 1000 or 2200. Would those be powerful enough? Also What does the mah have to do with it? What is it?
Thanks 🙂

A 1000 or 2200 milli amp hr or 1 or 2.2 amps, it's like the differnce in size of your gas tank.

What dimensions are your rc4wd battery?

I use Enrich Power lipos, all 5000's, they're quite compact, the last pic in my thread shows a 3s.

Re: Battery

You're wanting 11v, so that's 3s lipo. 3s means 3 cells connected in Series. Some also add a P for parallel cells, 3s2p means 6 cells with 3 series sets of 2 in parallel.

mAh is milli-amp hours. It measures run time / usage. Your 4000 mAh battery has 4 amp hours of power. I can pull 1 amp constant for 4 hours, or 8 amps for a half hour. Your 2000 mAh battery has 2 amp hours of power. I'd probably start around 2000 or 3000mah, and see if it had enough run time for what you're wanting.

Lipo batteries also have a C rating. That rate of Change is how fast you can charge or dischange without damaging the battery. It has to do with how many times the capacity of the battery can be pulled out at once. Racers worry about having really high C numbers. We aren't going to pull on a pack that hard so stick with the cheaper packs that have the Volts and mAh you want.

Hey thanks guys! The dimensions Of my engine compartment is 2.6 inches in width. It's a headache trying to fit all the components in such a cramped place. This is the stage I'm at now.

So should I get a 5000mah or a 2000mah

Yeah like I said the space for the battery is 2.6 inches wide by 5 inches long, so I think I found one that'll work barely
