I’m wanting to convert some die cast into rc. Any advice getting started?

Re: Questions

CAREFULLY think through EVERY step. I did a plastic Bruder D5 conversion. I THOUGHT  everything would work alright. It functioned, but was a crappy design.:o The model was so chopped/hacked up from the original design, I had to throw it away. I bought a second model, & converted it. This time around I put a lot more :thinking:thought into it, & more carefully measured things, BEFORE I made any cut/holes in the model. Once I FINALLY get my batteries from China (LONG story there) I will have it completed. :bounce:

I enjoy doing diecast conversions, if you have any specific question, i don't mind helping. I love to see what others can with these diecast. Take Skeeter's advice first, think everything thru as much as possible.

What ya making? Post a pic.

Try to come up with a plan of what it should do, and how everything is going to work together before you modify anything. Something innocent at beginning of build can bite you HARD on the back end.

Don't modify something without a plan to fix it if it breaks or doesn't work out correctly.

Try to treat it like there are NO replacement parts left in the world, it really makes you more aware of what you're doing as you convert. Maybe you can get another, but buying a whole model for a detail piece sucks.
