Reverse Beeper

I bought this off of eBay a couple weeks ago with some other stuff and it all showed up today. I wasn't sure what to expect for a couple bucks so I only bought one. It looks like it will work so I wish I had bought more.lol Isn't that always the way? I started to wire it into my Hayes this morning using a relay control switch. I use a DX6i on the truck and was having trouble figuring out the mixing in the limited time I gave myself. I had it on the gear switch which worked fine for on and off but mixed I could only get it to turn off when I throttled up.lol I will have a look at it again when I am less busy but I think it will be a nice add on.

Have you considered an inline diode, on the beeper leads, then connected to the motor lead's? Just a thought.

I tried hooking it up that way and it won't work. It only puts out a faint squeal. I was bummed because I thought I had it made!lol

What kind of diode did you use? Maybe try a Schottky diode. They have a low forward drop and faster recovery time.

If you had a light kit with back up light function, could you not tie into the back up light to trigger the beeper?

And I wonder if you can cut the case open and perhaps down size the overall dimensions a bit?

That's what I'm hoping

I don't think there is much room to trim these down other than the tabs. I played with it more last night and even just touching it changes the tone and volume level. I think it would be easy enough to fit somewhere though.

Just another alternative if you have an open channel on radio. You could use a switch (like a battle switch) and program radio with any reverse of throttle that channel would turn on thus enabling the full current to beeper.

That's what I was trying to accomplish with my DX6i. I was using the gear channel for the slave and couldn't figure out the mixing. I need more time captain!

Haha, good idea. I went for a trial ride by myself two weeks ago and man I miss riding. Once a few more projects leave my shop there will be a shiny new bike sitting there. I spend WAY too much time in my shop and it's showing on my health! Time to make some adjustments to my priorities.;)
