Another Noob.....

Hello all, My name is James, I am from Ozark, Arkansas. I have four kids, and a wonderful wife. I just got out of the Army National Guard (hence Sgt hopkins) after 15 years and one deployment to Iraq. I am new to semi trucks, I am on Scale4x4, I dont have any builds on there, I started a hilux but lost interest so I am going this rout. I have experience racing nitro stadium trucks, but not real sure about electric, esc's, brushless, etc. even after all my reading on scale4x4. I am open to learning and critisism of all kinds. I will do lots of reading before I ever start a build. I will be starting a frame up build cuz I cant afford a complete kit.... Thanks for having me here!!...

Sgt Hopkins, welcome to the board! I have learned a thing about building a truck from parts and peices and i am shure others will say the same I hate to give this away here I am more of a dirt guy i like the dozers and graders and scrapers ok... my exsperience sorry bout the spelling but anywayto the point it is cheaper to buy a kit and build that I have built a bruder truck and from what i had even with trading stalk i still have more in it than buying a kit i got a set of frame rails froma buddy on here and alot of other parts and then i wound up buying a transmission from another buddy on here with some other micsilanious parts to make it easy it would be best to get a kit and make it the way you want it.... don't get me wrong I really like my truck and now i would like to build another from a kit though........

Dirtpucher9, your welcome,.. but Im more of a modest guy and deserve no thanks. It was just a decision I made as a kid (17) and I just stuck with it and made alot of friends and family.

Td9clyde... I completely understand that I will spend more money doing it part by part. I really will never be able to just spend hundreds of bucks on a kit at one time. I can however spend 20, 30, maybe even 50 bucks at one time to very slowly build a truck with me kids. It may take two years :D but my first rig it a project for the whole family.
