i smoked the pump motor. is it dead?
 

hey i was working on th excavator the other day the motor i think got jammed and it smoked the motor! it was quick and i stoped as soon as i seen the smoke.

so is the motor dead? i orderd a new motor the other day, because a stripped out a hole. but i got it rigged to work until the new one gets here. but i also noticed the motor gets really hot! i knew it gets warm but now it hot to the touch. it almost like racing touring car hot! it never got hot just warm. on a related note i found out that the lines and hydraulic fluid is a great heat sink! i mean they are as hot as the pump motor!!
any help?

someday i will get a handle on this hydraulic stuff and stop asking silly questions:p
