turn table question
hey befor i rip the old excavaor apart i was wondering if a 540 would be strong enough to turn a turn table on a bruder conveted excavator with out a gear box?
right now im using a high torque servo and its not strong enough, looking for a sinple easy way to do this without buying bun of parts |
Re: turn table question
I dont think power would be the issue, I think gearing it down would be your main issue. You should try finding a geared motor to do it. Try ServoCity they have a nice selection:

Re: turn table question
I agree. You're going to need some sort of gear reduction. Servocity has gears that fit output shafts of servos. They have chain drive sprockets as well. Get's the creative juices flowing!

Re: turn table question
it will work and then some. you will turn it into a helicopter :o
you have to reduce it to about 13rpm of the table. that is, the rotation of the upper half at like 13rpm. so what your motor rpm will be depends on your turntable ring gear teeth.. i use 80t ring and 6t pinion on 90rpm motors. |
Re: turn table question
ya thats what thought. i seen vids on line and people use tiny little motors, i guess thats why.
