Re: 1/25 6 Axle Lattice Crane

I've been back at work on this thing after almost a 2 year break. I was burned out!

The rim beads were properly shaped, and resin hubs added after the rims were painted. Here's before paint....

Re: Demag TC 500 truck crane in scale 1/24

Hey, Kerst, I just caught up with this one. Again, another knock-out! I love the herkiness of your builds, and that everything is metal. Super work on those hubs and wheels, they look great. And...

Re: 1/25 6 Axle Lattice Crane

Re: Liebherr LTM1800 scale 1/24

Wow, Kerst. It's been a while since I've checked in, and I must say you have been busy. Those colors look great, as does all the progress on the model. A scale container to carry parts in; great...

Re: Oldtimer tower crane

I haven't seen this one before. Super work all around. I can see why you have to operate it outdoors! I like the all metal construction. I reminds me somewhat of the modern tower cranes. I assume it...

Re: Cutting styrene?

Have you ever heard of a Duplicutter from NWSL? Kinda limited in size for our scale of building, but it takes the guess work out of pieces that fit in it'd dimensions. Or study it's design and make...

Re: 1/25 6 Axle Lattice Crane

The "dream" room was something I salvaged. It was 10x12, with one open end. I salvaged it and enough material from the same demolition to add 8 feet on to it. The only money I had to spend was for...

Re: 1/25 6 Axle Lattice Crane

Fair enough question, considering the train layout is in most of the crane pictures. It is HO scale, and runs all the way around the room when I put the duckunder across the doorway. The room is...

Re: 1/25 6 Axle Lattice Crane

I've been working away at it here, getting well under way on painting the crane. These pictures are basically mock ups, but you can get the over all idea. The 2nd color will be gray, as the front...

Re: Liebherr LTM1800 scale 1/24

I can't quite figure out how those components work.

I used these pogo pins riding on a series of rings cut into a sheet of copper clad (used for printed circuit) If you think these pins could be...

Re: Liebherr LTM1800 scale 1/24

What is a slip ring? Is it electrical? Guess what. I used an MRC Power pack to make my controller when my crane was tethered! It works well. That's basically the circuit I copied in making up these...

Re: Liebherr LTM1800 scale 1/24

Hey, Kerst. I finally got some time to sit down and play with electronics. The question now is, do you want to set up separate speed controls for each function? Or you could set up one speed control...

Re: Liebherr LTM1800 scale 1/24

If you go back to my crane's history, you'll see I had built my controls into an MRC power packj. It has transistorized throttle. A transistor controls VOLTAGE, whereas a mechanical resistor...
