Is there a performance gain with 4mm hose?

Hi,
I have a CAT 339DL excavator and it currently uses the 3mm hose and fittings throughout.
I have seen a diagram in my internet travels that showed 4mm hose going from the pump to the valve block...

There may be a paper model plan about that could be modified and used perhaps? I sometimes use them for sheet metal. Try Google images and see if anything comes up.

Made a deck out of some recycled slats and framed it with cut in half 12mm square tube.

The hood looks great! My mate almost always has troubles with his hoods, for me it is shaping roofs that in my nemesis. Sometimes first attempt works, sometime it takes 3 or 4 attempts. :o
