Re: ~1:12 Miller Century M100 Rotator wrecker

That is an absolutely incredible piece of work. Very well done! Approximately how long did it it take to put all that together? Those big heavy rescue wreckers are one of my all time favorite...

Re: 1:12 scratch trailer(s) for the Purple Nurple

Looking good. I think you are the first person I've seen use the arduino Leonardo board. Is there any particular reason for using it as opposed to a standard UNO? Just curious.

Re: Mack Superliner conundrum

Forget photo bucket. They decided to start charging for the use of their service several years ago and as a result we lost hundreds of photos from old postings because the original posters refused...

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

I feel your pain there. I'm hoping that I've also purchased my last vehicle.

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

I honestly don't know if anyone makes a car today that can be imported or driven in the USA that is available with a manual shift. If there is one it is probably such a cheap POS that I don't think...

Certainly feel free to post here for as long as you can. There are still a few of us who regularly still visit and post and I'm sure we would all like to see your work. Always open to seeing...

Re: Mack Superliner conundrum

You will have to use an outside hosting service to upload your photos to and then post the link to them here. Unfortunately this forum does not get near the amount of viewers/posters that it used...

Re: Mack Superliner conundrum

Shapeways did indeed go under. They have recently resurfaced though under all new management and now selling the same services as before. Unfortunately all the model files they had were deleted as...

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

Can't wait to see what you can do with the resin printer. I bought one about 3 years ago. It was an older model Creality that was on closeout sale from my local PC store. I mostly just use it for...

Re: MFC01 + Carson reflex radio

The Carson web site says the radio is fully compatible with both Tamiya MFC units. Looks like it has analog style trims which is what Tamiya uses to switch between various functions of the MFC.

Re: TH407C Telehandler 1:14 scale

Ok, now I fully understand what you've done. Great idea to save for future reference.

Re: TH407C Telehandler 1:14 scale

That is really looking good. Love the rack and pinion steering setup. Can't tell for sure from the short videos, you have limit switches on the pinion drive motor to protect it? Odd looking plate...

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

Well hopefully you won't have a need to remove the rear axles very often, if ever. Can't remember the last time I had to remove one of mine, or even mess with the drive shaft itself.

Re: 1:12 scratch trailer(s) for the Purple Nurple

In the US the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Administration mandates that tie downs must be protected from damage, hence the use of 'rub rails' on flat bed trailers. Most people use them incorrectly,...

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

I don't think the 'flexible' option would work for something like that. It only allows movement in sub-assemblies function in another assembly but only within the limits of the applied constraints. ...

Re: Purple Nurple: ~1:12 Frobeliner cabover scratch build

Looks really good, nice job. Just out of curiosity, why 1/12? The inside of that cab is huge, I wouldn't know what to do with all that space. I agree with you on the use of arduinos but because of...

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

That is a very interesting idea. I've never used a Gold-N-Rod before as i've never been into airplanes but know what they are. Thanks Don, gonna have to do some thinking on this.

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

Thanks Don. Have thought about doing similar to my lathe. Couldn't do the cross slide like you did. I bought mine set up for CNC and the servo mount prevents inserting anything into the the...

Looking good Don. Like your solution to handling the cross slide scale. Can those scales be trimmed to shorter lengths?

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

The iguaging scales are very popular in the home machinist hobby world. If you want an even better readout google 'yuris toys'. Yuri developed a, relatively, inexpensive way to combine the scales...

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

The two programs are pretty much the same. I've still got a copy of Cubify Design (from when 3DSytems owned the software) and it works the same way. I played around some today with the 'flexible'...

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

It does indeed, last place I had thought to look. Had gone through all the preference menus and couldn't find anything. Will have to do some experimentation as I have never tried it. Weird in that...

Re: 1/16 Scale FrankenDiff

Sounds like you have a real good handle on the assembly process in Alibre. Just wish it all would work. Where is this 'flexible' check box? I don't recall ever seeing such a thing. Or is it only...

Re: Lafayette, IN - Farm Toy show 28Feb-2Mar 2025

Some photos I took during the RC Truck & Equipment meet held at the Layfayette Farm Toy Show, Feb 28 to Mar 2, 2025. This was the 2nd year at this venue and we were given about a third more space to...
