Now that is a pretty cool looking machine, it would be perfect for loading one of these Linn dump trucks. I will need a truck to load after I finish the Gradall.
Hmm... :D

Re: Bucyrus Erie crane truck

Nice, do you have any pictures you can share?

Also. I just...

Re: Bucyrus Erie crane truck

A small bit of progress on the crane. I made this service hatch, I don't know what it's supposed access on the real machine but it should come in handy to access the winch motors or a battery.

I took this drawing and used the measurements at the top and did some quick scaling to get the dimension for the swing ring. It should be accurate if the drawing is to scale, all you have to do is...

Re: Bucyrus Erie crane truck

The plan is to get the swing mechanism as close to the real machine as I can. So I'm going to machine a custom swing ring and cut internal gear teeth in to it just like the deal.

Re: Leds using a old servo board question

Micro servos can draw up to 400 ~ 450mA and standard servos can draw up to 2.5 ~ 3A when stalled. Most LEDs draw 20mA, so doing some math 400mA / 20 = 20 we can determine that a micro servo control...
