tc1cat - Yes you are so right with the paint. But I am not really concerned because I have experience painting small assemblies. The tandems rotation is not an issue for paint. The rear frame...

I just finished with the final design of the tandems. I will need to spend some time on getting the drawings finished so I can get the machining process started.

I think that I am going to powder the main parts and paint the rest. I am not too concerned about that at this point in the build.

No I did not deviate. I start with the basic dimensions of the 1:1 machine that are available, that gives me the envelope where everything has to fit, and then work on eyeing the rest till I am happy...
