Major hiccup / minor disaster. Confirmed my suspicions with some paint tests today. Turns out of the 3 cans of paint I bought, one of...

Re: Scania airport fire truck

Switched to a thinner tube (2,5mm vs 3,5mm inner diameter, but much thinner walls) and now I'm not that worried about the servos. Did some testing, and the water flow is still acceptable. The nozzle...

Re: RC Lombard Log Hauler

That is an incredible machine! I looked at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSd9A4J2ihM and my mind is struggling to process a steam locomotive on tank treads coming down a forest road....

Re: 1950s FWD fire engine

That makes sense. I frequently regret spending so much time on a water system I'm probably only going to test once.
A nice heavy high center of gravity would definitely look cool :)

Re: 1950s FWD fire engine

Nice work. How are you securing it to the chassis? Looks like there's room for a compact 380 sized gear pump in there.

Re: 1983-91 Econoline Ambulance

Great lenses! Are they resin cast?

For siren and other sounds, I feel I should mention the Benedini micro (http://www.benedini.de/), capable of controlling multiple sounds from a single channel or...

Re: Scania airport fire truck

This fire monitor keeps throwing problems at me that I never considered. One of them is how to make a simple swivel mount with low friction that is both stable and can be attached and detached...

Re: 1972 AMC Matador - Police

Great start! And if you give up and cut off the roof you'll have a nice presidential limo!

Hearse please! You can never have too many projects. I wouldn't even know where to start with all those curves though.

Re: Scania airport fire truck

I was hoping to be able to do that. Part of the problem is my lack of experience and the order of operations. 3D printing could probably solve the issue, but I'm building the shroud by first making a...

Re: Starting a new build... something...

Nice compact layout. Looks like a solid shovel lifting mechanism. Good job on the servo reversing too. I didn't think of reversing the motor wires inside.

I'm very happy with my cheap 16 channel FrSky Taranis X Q7 so far. It comes with the option of self centering on both sticks just by turning a screw. It's definitely not as user friendly as many...

Ahh, yes. That would explain it. These polystyrene materials are chemically the same as Styrofoam, but completely different in structure. They are not a foam at all. More like a credit card. I've...

Re: Starting a new build... something...

Looks like a fun project! I especially like that control box.

For your servo questions:
Servo angle = stick angle. The servo will move proportionally to the stick. Move the stick to 40% and the...

I'm also very interested in experiences with this. Lesu has a new series with 2.66 gearing that is tempting.

Re: KH Beam Hauler

Do you run them in parallel or do you use one for drive and one for accessories?
I like how low you got them mounted. Looks like it would be a fun and solid racing truck at this stage.
