I would suggest upgrading the firmware on the 10t if you haven't already.
Note: you should backup you models to the SD card before doing so. You may also need to re-bind the models.

So the centre differential in the transfer case, between the gearbox and the driven axles can reverse the drive direction?

Yep they do... Try 2 carbon fibre blades, 550mm long, spinning at 2600rpm... That's what some of the Helis run at... Not pretty when things go wrong.
