To give your drill bit a spot to start on a light tap with a centre punch to make a divot just like you would in metal. I mark thing out on round stock in steel all of the time just as in picture...

It depends on what service used with ups. Normal ups shipping is reasonable and painless. I only found the ups "saver" to be excessive expensive and not so prompt.

Hey guys, I am from Canada and you would think better rates tha you all down under...... On several things it would have been the same $175us and import taxes. It is that ups "saver" not much savings...

Working at a welding shop I brought in a few 20' lengths of square bar. Pricing power I paid pennies a foot for 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2" material. Far cheaper than the ey stock.
