Re: Making a 1964 HD Mack model B-81st RC Tractor

Sharp model!

Re: Merry Halftrack Christmas

Heh, some Quad-50s are quite a way to say Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal.

A little before your half-track, but let's enjoy a 1914 Christman Miracle...

Re: Michigan T-24 project

That really sucks about the slew gear motor. Going by the slipring cutout, I thought it could fit over on left side of machine in the engine / counterweight area? Also depending on your cable drum...

Re: Another Intro from Ireland

Those lifeboat tractors are really awesome looking!

Do you already have a model of the lifeboat built, or will you be planning on making one for your launch/recover machine?

Since i'm sure you...

Re: Michigan T-24 project

Great looking progress!

That's a really slick idea with the seperated power sources sharing signal through a slip-ring! I don't remember seeing any crane models done that way. I knew you needed to...

Re: Hercules flatbed trailer with skids of drywall

Have you tried securing the strap ends together with a dot of CA glue, then clamping / smashing it flat and square with pliers while curing? Worked ok with these....

Re: VW Van 1/16

CXD D52.
That's a pretty sharp looking 23 window Type-2 vw!!! (Fisheye signal T1, righthand drive)

I really like how they got the steering shifting the body toward outside in a corner. This...

Re: Michigan T-24 project

Well yeah, if any of us were that concerned about sharing ideas, we'd be those racers at the tracks who never pull the body off so you don't see their winning secrets.

I had a cunning plan: Start...

Re: Michigan T-24 project

Are you sure sandblasting is NOT supposed to be part of the rc hobby? (I like using Black Diamond slag media)

I'm really digging the looks of those axles under the carrier! Good call on walking...

Re: Scania 112

Nice, looks like that really speeds up build time!

I think there were some places that sell blank frames and printed drill-jigs, once you get all they layout finalized

Re: Hand painted 1/16 figure

I really don't know what you guys are going on about.

I like his eyes, they've seen things.
Too many things. Things that come back when he closes them. Things that come back with certain sounds,...

Re: Hercules flatbed trailer with skids of drywall

To be fair, I think we all have too many projects in line.

Some glue toward middle of pallet might help keep your pipe loads together, unless you're planning to unload and use them at...

Re: Hercules flatbed trailer with skids of drywall

I like that cargo!!!
I know you already mentioned hanging a forklift off the truck, but i was thinking working with that much long stuff may be a good excuse to consider a Side-Forklift for your...

Re: Hercules flatbed trailer with skids of drywall

Oh yeah DDmckee, using Magnet Wire for leds is "FUN". Surface mount leds do let you put lights anywhere, if you can tolerate working with them. (Masking tape helps). Those tabletop trucking guys are...

Re: Metal Hobi MH-245 kit as Hitachi ZX245 excavator

Glad that was helpful. Those pads are looking great!

I know with open pours some epoxies will let you clear out near-surface bubbles with a butane torch lightly, not sure how it might work with...

Re: Metal Hobi MH-245 kit as Hitachi ZX245 excavator

Great looking grapple!

Cool track pad design, hopefully that'll get the traction you need

For degassing, you might be able find a painting pressure pot easier than making vac chamber?

Re: A REALLY small RC tractor-trailer

Haha,
I dunno, even the 1/16 scale Street Sweeper i found still doesn't have a ton of room for activities. Wouldn't want to try on that scale..

Wow, 1/150 is pretty crazy!
I thought the 1/87 scale rc stuff was about the limit!

I'd love to build something like that, but so much magnet wire
