My work space

Well, I finally got my own office that I am also using for my hobbies. It's a 9 by 12 foot timber building in the garden. Got insulation in the walls, and light and power. Just need to insulate the...

Finally got to take a picture of my locomotive, apologies for the poor quality.
Just got the one loco, no track yet. Been a shelf queen so far but I hope to be able to get her running one day. The...

Re: project 350

That looks fantastic, what a top-notch job! Ritchie must have been really pleased with his mini version of project 350.

Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth

I'll be watching this build closely. There have been a few KH to Peterbilt conversions now but not so many KH to Kenworth conversions. Looking good so far! I didn't realise the front axle needs to go...

Re: Frame rail bolts

Thanks Ed, unfortunately I don't live anywhere near Texas but at least you've given me an idea of what to look for.

I'll give micro fasteners a look, thanks Spudd.

Frame rail bolts

In an effort to increase realism I've been working my way around my truck eliminating the massive screw heads that aren't in keeping with the scale look, like the ones that mount the cab on the...

Re: Frustration with model manufacturers

The three axle reefer is definitely what we see over here in Europe, but those short trailers aren't even close! They must come from cloud cuckoo land or some such place! Trailers in the UK are...

Re: hand made custom wheels

Dang, if you make this stuff with antique machines imagine what kind of stuff you'd be creating with a factory full of industrial state of the art machines and a team of operators!!

Frustration with model manufacturers

I find it incredible that the models out there need so much work to make an accurate representation of the real thing. With tamiya the king hauler needs major work to look like a peterbilt or...

Rechromed once a year! Wow! I found that video a while ago, been looking for decent pics of that truck/trailer combo ever since.

Re: hand made custom wheels

Mmmm look at them wheels. It amazes me that not one single r/c parts manufacturer is able to produce what one man and his workshop is able to do, 100% accurate tractor truck wheels.

Scale dimensions for a reefer/curtainside

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone could tell me if I was to build a reefer or curtainside trailer, how long should I make it to replicate the most common size in scale 1/1. Don't have a clue on how...

Re: Club Members Weekend

All nice trucks there, the flatbed with all the bales looks nice. But I especially like the black knight with the black wheels with chrome centres and the cattle guard, it looks so cool. I've never...

Re: My daycab...

That's a sharp looking daycab, both in miniature form and in 1/1. How do you manage to churn out all these trucks! 3 trucks and counting and I haven't even finished 1 yet! You're unstoppable John!

Re: Pickett Custom Tractor Look-A-like

That has got to be one of the coolest Wedicos I have ever seen! Considering how high they sit stock, you did a top job lowering it. The custom accessories really set it off.
