Re: Another Structo Dump Truck Conversion

Tom, I found two hex nuts that fit close onto the shaft. I drilled through the flat of the nuts and taped them for set screws on opposite side of each nut so I can attempt to evenly tighten the nuts...

Re: Nylint michigan crane conversion, hopefully

Frizz,

I'll turn the drums for you if you know what you want/need. Mine are pretty simple. You want them as large in diameter as you can fit nested next to each other. And for width I just...

Wait a minute, I thought they went the right direction when I saw it at the Pike show? You sure someone didn't sneak into your shop and turn them around just to screw with you? :p

Cooper, at the show this weekend, did I hear you telling Steve or someone else that the dirt likes to get stuck between the grouser and the pad in front of it? On my little Oliver it does exactly...

Re: Another Structo Dump Truck Conversion

Tom, thanks.

I found one dump truck at the pike steam show a few years ago and I found one local here at a antique/consignment shop. My dragline came from a local diecast toy store, it was a...

Re: Another Structo Dump Truck Conversion

Got some more done this weekend. I am going to have to fine tune the chain drive/transfer mechanism. It doesn't line up well enough the way I have it and the chain binds up on the sprockets more...

Re: Another Structo Dump Truck Conversion

Starting on the front end, this might be harder than the read end, I'm going to try and make it a 4x4.

I thought this shot was worth the tall part in the mill vise clamping solution......

Re: 1/16 Oliver Dozer Conversion

It keeps getting better...:p

Today I put bearings in the main drive assembly. I'm sure that will help runtime and power to the dirt. Added a dual rate and slowed it down to about half speed so I...

Re: 1/16 Oliver Dozer Conversion

I think it is going to work. I have one real loose and one tight side and at this point no good way to control tension. This particular die cast uses springs on the front rollers for tension but...
