Re: Should I fuse a Sabertooth 2x5 ESC.

Well just to update the situation, we cleaned it all up and it's looking a lot safer electrically now with all the wires ends soldered up. And Dimension sent me a replacement ESC, had a trace-back...

Re: New 60 ton excavator from Robbe

Yep, I've had the same experience. I've put at least 2000 hrs into my dozer build in 2015 including drawings, and I'm still not finished. I'm not going to embarrass myself saying what it's cost and I...

Re: Should I fuse a Sabertooth 2x5 ESC.

Thanks Lil Giants. I'm taking it over to the electrical workshop at our co-working space tomoz to do the lot again with solder. I've pulled everything out, esc's, wire looms the lot, vacuumed the...

Re: Should I fuse a Sabertooth 2x5 ESC.

OK well here's where I'm at as an update. Closer inspection per Lil Giants' point shows a lot of the tiny strands everywhere. I may have brought this 2x5 failure on myself not soldering all the...

Re: Should I fuse a Sabertooth 2x5 ESC.

Thanks for the heads up Lil Giants. Yes I use separate + and neg bus bars well apart from one another. The Firgelli's are L16 S-Type (with limit switches so they won't have to be centered.) I made...

(1) I've got 3 sabertooths on my build, one 2x32 on the drive motors and two 2x5's, one on blade lift and tilt and the other on a 4...

Re: Discussion on New Range of DC linear Actuators

Hi RCP, they do look very similar. Their spec sheet on the pdf is a jpeg so its illegible, I've emailed them for a better copy so we can asses the specs. I looked at the P-Series Firgelli's as well...

Re: Discussion on New Range of DC linear Actuators

Hi Bigford, I bought 2x L-16S-63:1-140 for the blade, 4 x L16S-150-50 for the ripper and a L-16S-150-100 for tilt. These are the most powerful they sell - I can't see how they be the wrong ones? I...

Discussion on New Range of DC linear Actuators

I found this today after searching for an alternative to my $500 set of 7 x Firgelli L-16-s's of which I currently have 3 in bits trying make sense of them - the broken PCB wires, skipping screw...

Re: Magom D11 hyd ram ratings?

OK thanks for the heads up Rimrock, appreciate your input. My dozer in 1:1 is just a little larger than a D11 in 1:1 so the D11/Bruder kit size will look pretty good in 1/16th. I'll get the dims and...

Re: Magom D11 hyd ram ratings?

Hey thanks Rimrock. That's a great help. And that's their smallest bore size as you mentioned. They have 18 and 22mm bore too - need to check with them as you advise re sizes of the D11 kit but even...

Re: Another KAT on the prowl

Really good to see a model of a big U.S. hydraulic hoe after all the jap machines that are so common. I was at a show a while back and they had a big Insley hydraulic hoe with an 8V92 in it running,...

Re: should or keep it the same?

Another thing I forgot to add cosworth is that I found Firgelli will promptly help out with design questions using their actuators. I emailed Ian Greig at Firgelli (found his details here on RC T&C)...

I hear your pain cosworth. For what it's worth imho, the appearance of these mini-hydraulic rams is first class looking at them nicely fitted and plumbed to the models and some of the fits here on...
