Those stores inventory of angle are too big. I need 3/16 x 3/16 and 1/8 x 1/8 sizes.

Smile small angle iron

I am building a scale model dragline. I can not locate a source of small aluminum or steel angle iron for the boom. I have google searched with not much luck.

Swing Test

Progress is slow but I think I have a swing system that will be smooth and very similar to the OEM machine in speed and operation. I am using a slipper clutch from SDI to simulate the friction drives...

Well I have made some progress.......the servo speed is a little slow but I plan to increase the system voltage to gain another 20%...the line pull is very strong.

I probably bought the parts book you saw! It was pricy but really helps to scale components from for sure. I also bought a sales brochure from that era that has some great pictures to help me.

I think the drum barrel area will either need less weld or I might bore out the flanges and well the barrel from the outside of the flange....definitely need less weld metal to machine lagging...
