Take a look at Harbor Frieght Tools www.harborfreight.com they have a very nice combo 8" Bench top shear/brake for $179
max capacities are: 18 guage aluminium, 20 guage copper or brass, 22 to 20...

Thanks for your info Scott, I just ordered this morning from RC4WD a disconect unit and some gears so I will play around with it when they arrive. All part of the enjoyment I suppose.

I was thinking more like putting a drop box on the back of the 3 speed Tamiya 1/14 truck gearbox. I would try myself but I do not have the tooling.
