Re: Great Dane excavating co.

Cooper-I'm not being picky because this is a GREAT model but the dump looks a bit slow to me. Is this the finished version? However-this will give you time to grab a beer while it is dumping. Will...

Re: Ny-Lint Mobile Dragline Conversion

Interesting video jim-I don't have the digital readouts but I can do the same thing with a rotary table. Your way looks more complicated to me. Do you think there is an advantage in using your method?

Steve-the dozer is looking good. Seems like a complicated build to me but probably not for a machinist like you. Nice work!

Re: Another Structo Dump Truck Conversion

Jim-looks like you, the mill and lathe are getting along nicely. They can be lots of enjoyment and you can make about anything your mind can come up with. However, after cranking those handles for a...

Re: Another Structo Dump Truck Conversion

Jim-what,s your plan on milling the hexes on the ends? I have been thinking about doing this on my dragline walking system but I don't know how to do it and keep the ends matching without an indexer....

Re: Nylint michigan crane conversion, hopefully

Nice to see old rigs like this converted. I think on a machine this size-3rpm would be the maximum you want for swing speed and maybe slower. On a dragline with hi-speed swing you will be slinging...

Re: Ny-Lint Mobile Dragline Conversion

Jim-sometimes these jobs take way more time than expected, but as long as the results are what you want is all that matters. I don't see a problem with the tensioners. Once you get them set, I doubt...

Re: Ny-Lint Mobile Dragline Conversion

Jim-looks like you nailed it. The tracks are rotating smoothly with no jumping or jerking. Good job. If you still had the twisting problem I was going to suggest you bolt the-2-rails together tightly...

Re: Ny-Lint Mobile Dragline Conversion

Jim-I like the way you made the lugs on the track pads but was just wondering why you made the tumbler so wide. I'm sure you have a plan. Have you wrapped the pads around the tumbler to see if they...
