I normally get hitec's as well, but for an exploratory project and a budget i got the 6 servos for $70 vs. $180. They claim all metal gearing and higher torque, so i will post once i know.

Isn't the RPM critical in order to know the true output?? I obviously don't want it to go to fast and look unrealistic or cause damage, but at the same time i don't want...

Does PMD still sell that motor? I saw somewhere that you said that motor was a 50:1. So...

Do you have a close up photo of the screw drive at the end with the thrust bearing? Not sure I fully understand what you have going on there.
