Re: Mack DM truck, scale 1/24

The rears are doing quite well actually. But there is too much weight on them and too little on the front axle. maybe I can move the fifth wheel a bit forward.

Re: Mack DM truck, scale 1/24

This weekend I made some good progress with the Rogers trailer. I have some picture of 3 different Roger low loaders, which are all slightly different in detail. My version will be a combination of...

Re: Mack DM truck, scale 1/24

I decided to add a low loader NYC 90's style, like Malbros and Confortti had to haul big crawlers like the 4100W around town. I am using parts of disused projects to build it. I just finished the...

Mack DM 800 truck, scale 1/24

A little side project. I needed a heavy duty truck in scale 1/24 to move various trailers. I had this MB truck, but it was in scale 1/20.

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

It took me just under 2 years to build this truck. It was a lot of fun. The transmission and the controls were the most challenging, but after a lot of tinkering it all works and it is fully remote...

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

I found the right paint for the Euc. It looks decent, the color is very nice but needs a second coat and I didn't buy enough!! That means waiting.

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

I never thought I would get (into) electronics, but so far it seems to work out.
In the past weeks i worked on all the electric connections and finding space for the electronics, etc. Although the...

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

With the current gear ratio top speed in scale 1/1 is around 25 mph. The real one can reach about 30 mph.
The electric motor should reach 5,500 rpm, while the diesels do 2,100 rpm.

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

I added another motor. It might be overkill and it is easy to take it away. I can also easily change the reduction between motors and gearbox. Now it is 1:4. I tried it with the battery with a much...

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

Thanks,

I hope to fix the problem by increasing the reduction between the motor and the gearbox by 20 to 30% and i will create space for another motor. If the reduction doesn't do it, an extra...

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

Today I did my first test run and I took a short video.
It is a 4-speed power-shift and the first and second speed work nicely. The third works OK, but the fourth speed seems to take all the power....

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

Due to the crisis I have lots of time for the gearbox. It slowly comes together. I finalized the input and output sides. I hadn't thought about these at all when I started building the gearbox, so...

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

The original comes with a whole lot of options. I choose for
the first gear a 5.50 reduction,
the second a 3.20 reduction.
the third a 1.75 reduction and
the fourth is a 0.93 overdrive.

Re: Euclid R-62 dump truck

I have been working on the power-shift transmission. This is an experiment and needed some proper preparation, including calculating ratios, making accurate drawings, etc. Quite the challenge!

Just one question, how are you going to lubricate the lead screws?

Re: Liebherr LTM1800 scale 1/24

The one thing missing was the extra drum mounted on the boom when using both the derrick and the luffing jib. I managed to put the gearmotor (60rpm) inside the drum. It fitted beautifully! Today was...
