I have a version of the hobby king(different name) in my Kenworth. Unless you want flashing disco lights it is just on when the power is on. Pretty basic function and to be honest I was a little disappointed. I also should note that mine had an NFG socket for one of the 5mm white lights when I got it. I figured that I wasn't using the flashing mode so I just plugged it in elsewhere and it worked OK. I didn't take it back because I bought it locally and it would cost me more in gas than the unit was worth but quality may be poor
