I agree. I live in a small town where logging industry dominates and all of the old timers are like, "you know we used to haul 4 log loads all day
" Back then if they logged as efficiently as they did now (the mountain blowing up 2 billion board feet didn't help either...) then there would still be good old growth and very nice second growth getting a good start. All the units left with big timber are protected now.
