Default 1/12 stanley thermos from 'bic pen'

My cabs kinda boring, and the scale crawler part of me says it needs to look more lived in. Mornings are bad, coffee is good...

photobutt.com strikes again

So go grab a 'bic round stic' cheapy pen, some wire (18g copper, paperclip, whatever), a sharp thing, and something to measure with in thousandths of an inch. If you measure in napoleans, i won't help you since these pens suck too much to export.

The Stanley 1.4 quart Thermos diameter is 3.75", pen body is 0.322, lazy math calls that 1/12 and good enough for 'tamiya scale' and doesn't look wrong in my 1/16-ish cab.

Rip the end plug and tapered ends out, trim most of their inserted parts off, or you can do this at the end when fitting the handle. Throw the ink part away or something.

Base to taper is 10.5 inch, so cut a chunk of barrel at 0.875".
Taper flange to top of cap is 4", so cut the tapered part to 0.333" from where it seats in pen barrel.
Handle is 7" so bend a U of wire with right angles at 0.583.

Drill holes in the barrel, shove handle legs through, bend inward.
Stuff the end plug and taper in.
Maybe you cap the tapered end with styrene, maybe you make a cup to put next to it.
Paint as desired.
