Default Re: Scratchbuild 1/10 KV-2

I got the project finally started. Hull material is no less than 3mm steel
I made the sides, floor and bottom front armour from a single piece. Sides were bent with an 50 ton jack press with angle tool, front armour with vice.
Im already off the measures, the sides are 5mm too tall and the floor is 10mm too wide.. I would have not expected for the metal to stretch that much from the bending! Im gonna leave it as is but hey, the USSR was not known for their precision engineering anyway
We had some problems (you dont often see 50-ton jack press tools break while building scale model parts) so that's all I managed to do today. Tomorrow I hope to finish the front and rear section to make the hull sturdy enough to start working on the suspension. I have a plan how to do it but I have no idea if it will be strong enough, the model is already around 5-6kg

Oh, and still no motors. I know a place where I can get drill motors but Im gonna finish the suspension first so I will know how much I have space for the motor+tranny.
